This only counts BTCB sent from BTCC's flap.sh fee-collector contract to the Binance Charity wallet — never the wallet's total balance, which also receives unrelated donations from other sources. It activates automatically once the fee-collector contract address is set.

The Origin

A 2014 idea, finally on-chain

Before founding Binance, Changpeng Zhao wrote a short, simple paper called "Bitcoin Charity Concept," proposing 100% transparent charities built on bitcoin. Bitcoin Charity is an attempt to bring that idea to life automatically, on the BNB Chain.

Fiat-currency charities suffer from a lack of transparency: high "administrative" costs, inadequate use of funds, and in some cases outright corruption. This erodes trust and reduces people's willingness to donate.

Instead of relying on manual donations, Bitcoin Charity makes transparency automatic: a smart contract on BNB Chain taxes every buy and sell, then sends the collected amount — already converted to BTCB — straight to the charity wallet, with no human intervention.

This project is inspired by the public "Bitcoin Charity Concept" document (Draft, License: Public), written by Changpeng Zhao on April 15, 2014. Bitcoin Charity is an independent community project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by CZ, Binance, or the Binance Charity Foundation.
